Called to the Bar in 1993, Cynthia is highly respected, ethical and principled.
She is dedicated to the needs of her clients and, when children are involved, places their needs above everything else.
Known in the Family Law Bar for being a strong advocate, Cynthia is a focused, efficient, knowledgeable and compassionate lawyer. She knows when to push a matter forward and when it is in her client’s best interests to settle. Despite a love of litigation, Cynthia utilizes negotiation, mediation and dispute resolution whenever appropriate in order to achieve the results that her clients are seeking.
Cynthia understands how family law issues intersect with the many other areas of law which often are at play in family matters. When necessary to get the results needed by her clients, she brings in other professionals such as business valuators, real estate appraisers and tax experts, working closely with them on behalf of her clients.
Above all, Cynthia understands that her clients are seeking a successful and fair resolution of their family law matters and works hard to achieve the best result in a timely fashion.
With over 20 years of experience in dealing with separation and divorce, Cynthia has developed an expertise in complex jurisdictional issues, particularly in the area of child abduction and the application of the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction.
In addition to her busy legal practice, Cynthia mentors many young lawyers and actively supports continuing legal education. She regularly appears in the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice and Court of Appeal for Ontario.
